Warranty Policy
Thank you for choosing Bicicletas DYU. This Warranty Policy explains what is covered, for how long, and how to make a claim. It applies to purchases made from dyubikes.com by the initial purchaser.

1. Summary of Coverage
- Limited Warranty Term: 1 year from the date the initial owner receives the product.
- Scope: Manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship under normal, intended use. Complimentary/free accessories are excluded.
- Remedy: At DYU’s option, repair or replacement of the defective component(s). Labor for part changeover is not included unless required by law.
2. Warranty Eligibility & Registration
- Automatic registration: The warranty is registered automatically for the initial purchaser using the order placed on dyubikes.com.
- Start date: The warranty period begins on the date the initial owner receives the product.
- Transfer: Warranty may transfer to a new owner only if both conditions are met:
- The original 1-year term has not expired; and
- The transferee provides the original purchaser’s name and original order number.
3. What Is Covered
3.1 Frame
- Coverage: 1-year replacement of a frame with a manufacturing defect.
- Notes: Coverage includes a replacement frame only. Labor for swapping components is not included. DYU may use new or “scratch & dent” stock of equivalent style/color at our discretion if the original is unavailable.
- Exclusions (examples): corrosion; paint fade, scratches, impact marks; impact/crash damage; non-reversible modifications (e.g., drilling/welding); damage to chain guard mounts (if applicable).
3.2 Battery
- Coverage: 1-year prorated warranty.
- First 1 year: DYU will repair or replace a defective battery at no cost. The warranty for the repaired/replaced battery remains based on the original purchase date.
- After first 1 year: A prorated credit (based on months in service) may be applied toward a new battery. Batteries purchased at a prorated price will have a new 1-year warranty from the prorated purchase date.
- Assessment: Battery defects must be verified by DYU. No cash reimbursement will be made.
- Battery-specific exclusions (examples): charging with an unsuitable charger; broken/tampered seals; use in equipment other than the specified bike.
3.3 Parts & Electronic Components
- Coverage: Original DYU parts & electronic components are covered for 1 year against manufacturing defects. When warranty spare parts are shipped to the customer, outbound freight may be chargeable to the customer unless required by law.
- Consumables not typically covered (wear & tear): brake pads, rotors, spokes, tires/tubes, chains, chainrings, cassettes, cranksets, grips, saddles, cables, bulbs. Wear is assessed by DYU.
- Other exclusions (examples): corrosion from elements; cosmetic deterioration; serial/label removed or defaced.
- Illustrative list of components: frame, forks, handlebar, seat post, saddle, brakes, lights, crankset, pedals, rims, hubs, freewheel/cassette, derailleur, shifter, motor, throttle, controller, wiring harness, LCD display, kickstand, reflectors, and hardware. Damage during use after 7 days of receipt is typically chargeable.
4. What Is Not Covered (Examples)
- Accident, crash, abuse, misuse, stunt riding, racing, or use outside intended purpose.
- Improper assembly, maintenance, installation, adjustment, or repair contrary to the Assembly Instructions & Owner’s Manual.
- Exposure to liquids, chemicals, abrasives, sand/dirt, extreme weather; fire, flooding, windstorm, lightning, earthquake, theft, blown fuses, or improper power sources.
- Private/unapproved modifications, rooting/flashing firmware, opening sealed components, or swapping/altering parts.
- Cosmetic damage (scratches, dents, paint fade) not caused by DYU; ordinary wear and tear.
- Use of third-party accessories or parts not furnished or approved by DYU that causes damage.
- Products with removed/altered/illegible serial numbers or barcodes.
- Complimentary/free accessories (no warranty or compensation for cosmetic transport scratches).
5. Remedies & Limitations
- DYU’s obligation is limited to repair or replacement of defective parts/components at our discretion.
- Labor for removing/installing parts is not covered unless required by applicable law.
- Except where prohibited by law, DYU is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages (e.g., loss of use, time, or profits). Your statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.
6. How to Make a Warranty Claim

- Provide: order number, bike model/SKU, serial number, a clear description of the issue (what/when/how), and steps already taken.
- Evidence: attach clear photos/videos of the problem and of the shipping packaging (good lighting; close-to-medium distance). If file size >10MB, send via email rather than web forms.
- Assessment: Our team may suggest troubleshooting. DYU will not ship replacement parts before reviewing sufficient photo/video evidence.
- Timing: Valid warranty claims must be submitted within 1 year of the original delivery date.
7. Shipping Damage Claims
- On delivery: Please inspect the package before signing. Note any visible damage with the courier if possible.
- If damage is found: Correo electrónico [email protected] within 7 days of receipt with photos/videos of the outer box, labels, inner packaging, and the affected parts.
- Free accessories: Cosmetic scratches on complimentary accessories are not eligible for replacement or compensation.
8. Returns, Repairs & Logistics
- Authorization: All returns must be pre-authorized by DYU Support (RMA). Returns sent without RMA, to an incorrect address, or with empty/incorrect contents may be refused.
- Shipping costs: Unless stated otherwise by law or by explicit DYU approval (e.g., verified 7-day DOA), the customer is responsible for shipping the product/part back to DYU. DYU covers shipping to send repaired/replacement items back to you.
- Customs & duties: If return shipments incur duties/taxes during re-import, these may be deducted from any approved refund where permitted by law.
- Turnaround: Typical processing after receipt is 3–6 business days for exchanges/refunds; repair timelines vary by part availability (usually 7–14 business days).
9. Owner Responsibilities
- Follow the Assembly Instructions & Owner’s Manual for setup and maintenance.
- Use only approved chargers and parts; keep proof of purchase and serial labels intact.
- Stop using the product if a fault occurs and contact DYU to prevent further damage.
10. Legal & Consumer Rights
This limited warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may also have other rights that vary by country. For EU/EEA consumers, this warranty operates in addition to, and does not limit, your statutory consumer rights (including legal guarantees of conformity under applicable law).
